***** was bullied at school because he did not share the same interests as the other
kids. They liked listening to chart music, playing football and going to the school
disco, whilst he preferred imported, underground music that he downloaded from
the Internet and atttending art exhibitions as far away as Manchester and Glasgow.
In his defiance, he began exploring 'aersol art' and was soon involved in the
local graffiti scene. The 'graf' gave him an outlet for his creative talent and
provided him with a focus, away from his dull existence at school.
He understood that this art form was linked to vandalism and that he could be
arrested if he was caught spraying illegally.
But his need to express outweighed the fear of being caught so he continued.
